Pathway to Resilience

Three tools for climate adaptation

Three free tools for companies that want to adapt to climate change. The Assessment shows where your organisation stands. The Business Case tool shows what it may be worth investing. The Adaptation Stack shows which solutions exist.

This page is free for you to use, no membership required, built and tested with more than 30 member organisations.

The three tools

Three tools, one pathway

Use them in this order, or open the one that answers your question today. Each tool works on its own and links to the other two.

Tool 1

Climate Resilience Maturity Assessment

Understand where your organisation stands now

27 questions across seven dimensions, from governance to value chain. The result is your maturity profile, your priority gaps and recommended actions for each gap.

What you get
A profile across seven dimensions, your priority gaps, and recommended actions for each gap, also as a PDF.
Who it is for
Sustainability, risk and operations teams. Best answered together: a prework page splits the questions into five work packages, one per function.
What you need
About 15 minutes for a first run. A paper and an Excel version of the questionnaire are available for preparation.
Good to know
The Assessment does not measure your climate risk. That comes first, from your own risk analysis. It assesses how well your organisation is set up to deal with it. Physical climate impacts only, no CO2 pricing and no transition risk.
Tool 2

Business Case tool

Quantify your adaptation investment case

An initial case for your company's adaptation investments: what it may be worth investing, as CapEx and OpEx, at the payback your company expects, and which of eight value levers create the benefit.

What you get
An investment figure with a range, the split into one-off and running measures, and a profile of the levers that create the value.
Who it is for
Sustainability and risk teams build the case. Finance tests it.
What you need
Five figures from your annual report and your payback expectation. Where you have no number yet, keep the example value.
Good to know
The case is for the company as a whole, not for a single project or site. It is a sandbox for internal discussion and replaces no investment appraisal.
Tool 3

Adaptation Stack

Find and combine the solutions that work for you

More than 200 adaptation solutions in 26 categories, mapped to climate hazards and to the steps of your value chain. Pick categories into your own stack and see which hazards it covers.

What you get
A shortlist of solution categories with the providers behind them, and a picture of which climate hazards your stack covers.
Who it is for
Operations, site, procurement and sustainability teams, and anyone who wants to see what exists.
What you need
Nothing. Filter by climate hazard, value chain step or solution type and browse.
Good to know
A catalogue for orientation and ideas. Whether a solution fits your site needs your own check.

Before you begin

Free and open

All three tools are free. You need no membership and no consultant to get started. Nothing you enter is stored unless you choose to save it.

A first orientation

The results open the conversation inside your company. They are indicative and replace neither a site-level risk analysis nor a project appraisal.

Better together

Hardly anyone can answer every question alone. The value comes from the conversation between functions, so bring your colleagues in.

Physical climate impacts

All three tools deal with physical climate impacts: flooding, heat, heavy rain, storm, drought and wildfire. CO2 pricing and transition risk are outside.

How it works

Open to try, membership to keep

All three tools are open to everyone and free to try. Anyone can run the Assessment, build a Business Case or browse the Adaptation Stack without an account, and see the full result each time.

Saving your work, exporting a PDF, sharing a result and inviting colleagues into it are for members — sign in with your work e-mail to join your organisation's workspace.

Who is behind it

Built by the people who use them

The toolbox comes out of three cross-sector working groups of the Adaptation Exchange, with more than 30 member organisations: corporates, banks, insurers, real estate, manufacturing, logistics and solution providers.

More than 15 international corporations tested the tools with real teams in summer 2026, among them one of Europe's top 10 banks, Bosch, BASF, Bayer and Otto Group. Their feedback shaped the versions online today, and we keep improving them with every round.

Why three tools

Most large organisations assess their climate risk. Few turn the result into coordinated investment and action. In our working groups the same three hurdles came up in every sector.

First, operations, finance, risk and sustainability describe the problem in their own words and talk past each other. The Assessment gives them one shared language.

Second, there is no figure that finance can test, so adaptation stays outside the budget round. The Business Case tool gives finance a figure to test.

Third, the option space looks smaller than it is: most teams know a handful of solutions and few providers. The Adaptation Stack shows what is already available.
